I hope you are all having a wonderful week and stayed safe during the typhoon. The farm got a little rustled but it was a good day to visit for some tomato picking!
We walked through the farm picking mini tomatoes.
Some of the tomatoes are from fallen seeds last year that have popped up on their own accord throughout the farm.
Others are plants that I planted on purpose, but both are YUMMY!
First we talked about which tomatoes to pick based on their color and ripeness. Then we also learned about the importance of bugs like caterpillars to help pollinate our plants.
Finally, after we picked many tomatoes, we used a string and needle to create what looked like a necklace, to be later hung for drying and making dry tomatoes.
These will be dried in the hot house for several days. They should be super sweet!!
Your child will also bring some tomatoes home today so I hope you enjoy!
