Hello everyone,
This week we went to the farm and picked daikon.
It was dark and chilly but we managed to find nice daikon to bring back for a cooking lesson. This time, we picked from an area that still has small daikon and needed thining. We picked daikon that were in crowded areas and still small, good for cooking.
Back at tidepool, we made daikon pickles. First we washed and cut the daikon. Then we added sugar, salt, vinegar, water, and yuzu zest to a small baggie. Then we put the sliced daikon into the bag and mixed well.
After our pickle making, we went over different English flash cards.
